Heartbreaking details of how emergency services tried desperately to save Elaine and Philip Marco have been heard in court today
A coroner's court today heard of the desperate battle by emergency services to try and save the lives of a married couple who died after their car became stranded in a flooded Liverpool road.
Police were joined at the scene by the North West Ambulance Service and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service. Police located the body of Elaine Marco and began CPR on her. She was then taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital where she was sadly pronounced dead at 10.50pm. Coroner Andre Rebello confirmed that yesterday he released the bodies of the much-loved couple, who were well known in Liverpool's Jewish community, so that they can be buried later today .
