The family of a husband and wife who died after their car became submerged in flood water have left floral tributes at the scene.
Emergency services pulled out the body of a man and woman, who were taken to hospital, but both of them were sadly pronounced dead. Tributes to the couple have now been left at the scene.A statement from the couple's family said: "We are devastated and heartbroken by the sudden loss of Elaine and Philip Marco. They were much loved parents to four children and 10 grandchildren.
A previous post from Philip to mark their 50th wedding anniversary said: "To my wonderful, caring, thoughtful, considerate Elaine, the best wife in the world. Wishing you a very happy 50th anniversary. Liverpool City Council says it has committed to fully co-operating with an investigation into the deaths of a man and woman who became trapped in their car in a flooded road over the weekend. The statement read: "Liverpool City Council has committed to fully co-operating with an investigation into an incident on Queens Drive on Saturday August 26, which tragically led to the deaths of two people.
