The heirloom chocolate was passed down to Ainslie Peters after it was bought for her grandmother on her first date with her grandad in the 70s.
A Scots woman has kept an heirloom Creme Egg wrapped up for the last 50 years - and hasn't been tempted to eat it even once.
Dan sadly passed away eight years later and the family has made sure the Cadbury product takes pride of place in the home ever since. "But it’s been cherished. First by my gran and then me so who knows how long it will last. I’m quite a sentimental person. I would never peel the foil off or disturb it.
When Jean died aged 94 back in 2010 Ainslie made sure she became the guardian of the unusual antique, which cost her grandad just 4pm. The egg now shares its place alongside a service from her dad's funeral.
