Emergency services raced to Randolph Crescent in Kirkcaldy after the alarm was raised at around 2.05pm on Monday.
Officers were called to reports of a 42-year-old man being attacked. It's understood he suffered stab injuries.
Ambulance crews attended and the injured man was rushed to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment. His condition is currently unknown. A 56-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. Officers say their enquiries are ongoing. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.05pm on Monday, 11 September, 2023, we were called to a report of a man having been seriously assaulted on Randolph Crescent, Kirkcaldy.
