The decisions will have a big impact on the county
A new Nottingham College building and a bridge at the Queen's Medical Centre are among the major plans to have been decided by Nottinghamshire's councils this week. All Nottinghamshire councils regularly publish the proposals they have decided upon, though the most significant ones have to be considered by a committee of elected councillors.
"To accommodate this demand the college has utilised a number of external marquees, however, these uninsulated spaces lack access to general teaching spaces for teaching theory, as well as a lack of support facilities." The permission comes after the green light was also given to a new Centre for Employability and Independent Living at the Basford campus.
But the council has approved initial plans to build a pipe bridge that will connect a ground source heat pump to the proposed energy centre. In its application, planning agents for the hospital said: "The majority of the works will be below ground level and will have no visual impact once complete... planning approval is sought for only the pipe bridge river crossing which will be visible.
