The 13.4 acre plot off Colliery Way - formerly known as the Gedling Access Road - has been put up for sale
A piece of land off a new Nottinghamshire bypass has reportedly attracted interest from a major supermarket and a fast food chain. .
In a brochure advertising the site, sellers Harworth Group said the land had already received "significant interest" from a major supermarket and fast food chain. It did not name the businesses."The long frontage to Colliery Way, plus direct access from the roundabout, presents an ideal roadside, leisure and retail opportunity," the brochure reads. "Significant interest has already been received from a major supermarket and fast food chain.
Chase Farm residents had mixed views on the prospect of the land being developed. “Because of where it is I would have just extended the country park and not built anything on it," said David Bodily. "They should think about adding entertainment venues such as cinemas or bowling arenas.” A local centre, expected to include shops and a nursery, has previously been proposed to go alongside the Chase Farm development at the housing estate site itself. Gedling Borough Council confirmed these plans were separate.
