When Everton play at home The Brick on County Road is awash with blue.
It is one of the most popular matchday pubs around Goodison Park and is a mainstay for home fans. Very rarely would you see an away fan venture in for a pre or post-match pint. It is different, however, when you run the company which owns the pub.
Chris added: “I've always liked The Brick, and I got out alive as an away fan, so that's always good.” “I think it's really important that each pub serves its own purpose. If you do a refurbishment, it's got to be a refurbishment of that pub for that community and we'll tailor everything to make that happen.
"The Brown Cow in Gateacre Village. The beer garden has transformed the place and they get food trucks in there at the weekend as well. The pub is one of four on Merseyside shortlisted for the awards, including The Bridewell in the city centre which is in the running for best urban / city pub. "If you were considering running a pub, you should know that it's a fantastic way of living. Yes, you're never going to become a millionaire in a local pub. But, if you like being part of the community, if you like representing the community and serving it, then it's a really great way to live.
