Police have launched a probe after the Left Bank restuarant was targeted overnight on Thursday, August 24.

The Left Bank eatery, in the city centre, was targeted at around 5am on Thursday, August 24. General Manager Callum Littlejohn, was dramatically woken up by a call from the alarm company. Upon arrival at Gibson Street police were on the scene.

Callum, who has worked in the restaurant for the past three years, said: "I got a call from the alarm company at 5.30am and was told there was an alarm activation. "He ripped the empty till from its wiring and went back through the hole in the door. We're an independent business so we were concerned that they'd taken stock.

"It happened to us a year or two ago. So when I received the call I was thinking 'here we go again'. I was dreading to find out what had happened last night. Even though this isn't my home I spend a lot of time here."It isn't nice to know that someone has come in to our restaurant and taken something from us."
