Local Area Commander, Chief Inspector Ryan McMurdo, says that the Levengrove Park event will give locals a chance to get to know local cops – and the people behind the uniform.

Dumbarton’s top cop hopes to see locals turn out in force for the area’s Blue Light Day event this weekend.

Organisations such as SSPCA, Heart Start, the National Park, Trading Standards, the Institute of Advanced Motoring and local support networks and charity groups will also be attending. He said: “I’m really excited, not only as the Area Commander, but as a resident of West Dunbartonshire to host it. It’s a great opportunity for me and my officers to engage with the community in a very positive way.

“It’s going to be a fantastic day and it’ll be an excellent opportunity for families to come along to the park and have a great time taking part in a range of activities.”
