But people in the Northern Ireland city aren't drinking as much as other UK cities

Belfast residents are spending more on alcohol per week than anywhere else in the UK, a new survey has shown.

Residents of Nottingham and Norwich are spending the least on alcohol per week, at just £14.20 and £12.30 respectively.Read more: The vitamin recommended for everyone in NI during autumn and winter In Liverpool, people consume an average of 12.5 units per week, the survey shows, with Sheffield and Cardiff also in the top five, with residents consuming an average of 10.9 and 10.5 units per week respectively.

Other findings included in the poll showed that almost half of UK residents are trying to cut back on their alcohol intake. The top reasons people are choosing to do so include physical health , mental health , and money .
