The supermarket was named the cheapest in the latest Which? monthly price comparison.
Aldi has managed to hold onto its crown as the UK's cheapest supermarket in August following a recent price comparison - but Lidl wasn't far behind.
The latest comparison found that Aldi shoppers were getting the cheapest prices for a small basket of 37 groceries with a total that came to an average of just £65.21 - which was over £14 cheaper than the most expensive option. Which? also compared the cost of a larger trolley of 133 branded items that included Cathedral Cheese and Andrex Toilet Paper. The larger comparison excluded Aldi and Lidl, as the discounted stores do not always offer the same brands.
