The Stockport band follow Noel Gallagher in performing at Wythenshawe Park next August.
Indie band Blossoms say an outdoor gig not far from where they grew up will match playing Glastonbury.
It follows the success of Noel Gallagher's gig earlier this year when 25,000 fans saw him perform with his band High Flying Birds in the park.Lead singer Tom Ogden said: "It's mint. We've played Glastonbury twice and we always go even if we're not playing, with our families in a camper van but this is more personal."
Ogden continued: "It affected what we wore and changed our lives forever. To misquote Dorothy, 'Lads, I've a feeling we're not on Oldham Street anymore!'"More than 25,000 watched the gig at Wythenshawe Park in August, which marked the first time the site had held such a show Formed in Stockport by school friends Ogden, Donovan, Charlie Salt, Joshua Dewhurst and Myles Kellock, Blossoms got their break on BBC Radio Manchester's Introducing show and have enjoyed widespread success and acclaim.
