A woman suffered a serious head injury after police were called to concerns for her safety on the M56.
and police confirmed the woman was taken to hospital for treatment. The motorway was closed in both directions following the incident, which cause delays for motorists.Police advised motorists to avoid the area as delays reached up to 30 minutes when traffic started queuing back. Traffic was able to move on the westbound carriageway shortly before 3.20pm and the closures were completely removed at around 4pm.
