It's Bank Holiday weekend and despite the gloomy weather, there's a massive celebration coming to town.
Our city has a long history of protest and standing up for the rights of marginalised communities. Pride is a celebration of Manchester's diversity and acceptance as much it is about providing a safe space for self-expression where LGBTQ+ people can be their authentic selves. 'Manchester Pride is more necessary in 2023 than in recent years - this is why we still need it' In this excellent opinion piece, the M.E.N.'s LGBTQ+ reporter Adam Maidment explains why this year's Pride celebrations are even more important than in recent years.
