Just before 10.30pm , London Northwestern Railway confirmed that trains between Milton Keynes and Watford Junction were subject to delays and/or cancellation. The company added that it was due to an “emergency incident”, which was later confirmed to be a fatality at Berkhamsted Train Station.This morning, a British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Berkhamsted railway station at around 10.15pm yesterday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.“Paramedics also attended, however sadly the person was pronounced dead on the scene. A file will be prepared for the coroner.
Ticket acceptance was in place on Avanti West Coast services as well as the London Overground while services were stopped.
