The Independent Office for Police Conduct sent investigators to the scene after a crash
A man, 44, is fighting for his life after being involved in a crash at around 1.10am on Saturday, October 7. Another man has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving whilst unfit through drugs, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and using a vehicle without insurance.
An IOPC spokesperson told the ECHO: "After being notified by Merseyside Police of an incident on the Strand in central Liverpool on Saturday morning we sent investigators to the police post incident procedure to carry out an initial assessment. A referral from the police force will be assessed to decide whether any further action by the IOPC is required."
