Venkateshwara Hatcheries Private Limited, the parent company of Venky's London Limited who own Blackburn Rovers, have seen assets seized in India

Blackburn Rovers' owners, The Venky's, have been caught in a tax dispute with the Indian government with properties up to £7.3million seized in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

VHPL is being investigated over money used to purchase a luxury house in Lanachire in 2011. Venky's Overseas Limited, another company within VHPL, purchased the property 12 years ago from former captain Manchester United Gary Neville. Although the loan was paid off by VHPL, the government has viewed this as a potential tax issue. The Indian government has tightened its belt over money leaving the country for overseas investment, which impacted Rovers' business in the transfer market.
