USWNT manager Vlatko Andonovski spoke to Fox after the draw: “I think that was a great performance in the second half. Nothing changed much drastically from a tactical standpoint, we just pushed up Crystal and Foxy just a little bit higher with the starting position. We were just a little bit more aggressive, but the mentality is what changed the most, I think.
"It’s not necessarily the mentality, the belief, it’s a fairly young team, a team that has not been together for a long time, trying to figure out each other’s runs, concepts, but the belief is what got them going and got them through and I think as we go forward we’re going to see more of what you saw in the second half.”
On why he only made one substitution: “We had a good rhythm, we dominated the game, we controlled the game. I can’t remember if they had more than one shot in the whole half, or the whole game. I don’t remember more than three shots. That’s a great team there that we just faced. To keep that team on three shots in 100 minutes? That’s a good performance.
"Very happy with the team, very happy with the mentality, very happy with the belief, especially from the young ones to see or to mimic the older ones, the experienced ones. So, looking forward to the next one.”
