She will be grilled in the House of Commons during Prime Minister’s Questions, then give a speech to the 1922 Committee of Tory backbenchers.

On Tuesday, Ms Truss hosted a Cabinet meeting at 10 Downing Street where her senior ministers discussed Britain’sand the Government’s plans to boost growth – although the meltdown in the markets over recent weeks was not mentioned, according to a No 10 spokesman. The Prime Minister told the Cabinet that “the economic challenges we face after the Covid pandemic and Putin’s war are greater than after the financial crisis”, a source told
