James Welsh, 55, appeared by videolink to enter a plea of not guilty at Preston Crown Court today
A Blackpool man has denied the murder of Ryan Broxup who was found with serious injuries in the town.
. Ryan, 47, was found with leg injuries outside a house in Hollywood Avenue, Blackpool, at around 8am on Sunday August 6. Emergency services were called to reports of a stabbing and Ryan was taken to hospital, where he sadly died the next day. Welsh, of Hollywood Avenue, was initially arrested on suspicion of wounding, however following Ryan's death he was charged with murder. During today's hearing he spoke only to confirm his identity and enter his plea of not guilty to the charge.
The Honorary Recorder of Preston, Judge Robert Altham, set a date of February 18, 2024, for Welsh to stand trial. Welsh was remanded in custody and will return to court on that date.
