With families across Scotland deciding how best to spend the October mid-term break, new research has revealed the top-rated free attractions across Scotland and the UK.
The top-rated free attractions in the UK have been revealed ahead of the October half-term holiday, and all of the top five are situated in Scotland.
According to the research, which looked at Tripadvisor reviews, the isolated archipelago has an average rating out five out of five on the travel website — with 93 per cent of reviews rating it 'excellent'. In third place, with 86 per cent of Tripadvisor reviews classed as 'excellent', is Goatfell on the Isle of Arran. The highest peak on the scenic island, Goatfell Mountain is an ideal destination if you are into hillwalking or climbing, offering gorgeous views out across Arran.
