Scotland’s best hotel for 2024 has been named by the prestigious Good Hotel Guide.
Knockinaam in Portpatrick has been declared the Best Hotel in Scotland, whilst there are 10 new entries across the country being featured in the guide, which was stablished in 1978 and features features more than 700 hotels, inns, B&Bs and guesthouses across the UK.
Mingary Castle on the Ardnamurchan peninsula also made its debut in style, making the Top 10 in the Editors Choice category of Restaurant with Rooms – offering just four rooms and incredible food, with oyster ice-cream is one of the unusual offerings.But the winner in Scotland, Knockinaam in Dumfries & Galloway, was chosen because of its “knock-out position” on a private cove where the road ends and the Irish Sea begins.
"After over 39 years in the industry and 20 years being the custodians of Knockinaam Lodge, we’ve been doing our own thing with sustainability, food & service throughout this time..Many of our guests have found us via The Good Hotel Guide, and keep returning.” Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
