But Rivington has another string to its bow - and it’s the perfect spot to go for a refreshment during your visit to the area. The Great House Barn Tearoom sits on the banks of Lower Rivington Reservoir.The 16th century barn is a gorgeous building with impressive original oak beams serving as a reminder of its former life as a farming outhouse. It’s a structure full of history and the building was even used as a storage room for the army during World War II, LancsLive reports.
Serving locally-sourced light lunches, cooked breakfasts, hearty meals and homemade cakes, the Grade-II listed barn is the perfect stop to refuel after going for a walk in the surrounding area. It also sells a small range of gifts. The Great Barn Tearoom isn’t the only place to grab a bite to eat in this stunning area. Located in the heart of Rivington Terraced Gardens is Fika Rivington, which is a cute coffee spot with a modern feel.
