The Duck opened after the third lockdown during the pandemic
An "innovative" town centre pub launched during the pandemic is celebrating two years in business. The Duck on Castle Gate, Newark, officially opened in August 2021 shortly after the third lockdown period ended in July that year.
"I think the biggest thing is the atmosphere, as what we have created is a feel good vibe. We offer something for everyone, and we are innovative and do things differently and not the way things are traditionally done in Newark." "Newark needs more venues in general and that is what will help encourage people to come to Newark." Earlier this month the pub hosted its first Rum Festival and later this year it will be hosting an Octoberfest celebration to mark the end of summer.
