Queer joy and celebration at Manchester Pride PLUS Noel’s on stage digs at United AND World Gravy Wrestling Championships

Thousands of people turned out to watch the wonderful annual parade, which took on a ‘Queerly Beloved’ wedding theme to mark ten years of marriage equality.
“There was a real sense of queer joy and celebration - whilst still focusing on activism and the continued need to fight for our rights. “The fact that it happened in the city centre, just yards away from Manchester Pride, says it all about why we still need Pride,” he says. “I’m absolutely fine, though. The reality is so many other people in the LGBTQ+ community have it much worse and have to face this kind of behaviour on a daily basis.”
"Now, I think there’s dangers at the edge of the world. There’s been attacks here - Clonezone in Manchester has been vandalised, there've been awful stabbings in London. And I think we have a government and a culture of hatred towards marginalised communities so there’s a lot to do - and it needs celebrating. Hoorah! Here we are!”
The bucket hat brigade On the other side of town over the weekend, Noel Gallagher was at Wythenshawe Park showing off songs from his new album. “The Masterplan and Half the World Away could probably be heard as far as Burnage, such was the vocal gymnastics of the crowd.
