Sleep expert names the fruit dubbed 'nature's sleeping pill' that could help you drift off more easily
Eating certain fruits before heading to bed could help you fall asleep faster, a doctor has revealed.
Dr Michael Breus, also known as the ‘Sleep Doctor’, hailed one fruit in particular as 'nature's sleeping pill.' He told his 84.4k followers on TikTok that eating a banana before heading to bed could aid better sleep, reports the Liverpool ECHO. He went on to explain that although many may think eating a banana in the morning will give an energy boost for the day ahead, snacking on the fruit before bedtime could be beneficial for sleep. But bananas aren't the only fruit the doctor spoke highly of.In the TikTok video, he explained: “People ask me all the time, 'What are some good positive foods for sleep?' So I've assembled a few here, let's check them out.
He added: "Bananas are actually called nature's sleeping pill - believe it or not - they are loaded with magnesium. Calcium - a lot of people are low in calcium, and we can get calcium from things like Greek yoghurt, which is a very essential byproduct in the sleep process. And believe it or not, pineapple has a lot of melatonin.
