The supermarket chain has been on top for over six months

Manchester Evening News has been comparing the prices between the six major supermarkets in the UK since March last year. They include Morrisons, Lidl, ASDA, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Aldi.

The closest bills come between Aldi and Sainsbury’s . Both supermarkets decreased items by 10p, including Aldi’s butter and Sainsbury’s teabags. Lidl has spent over six months at the top spot with the nearest supermarket in terms of price being 49p away. A spokesperson for Lidl said: "We are dedicated to keeping costs low for our customers, without compromising on the high quality they know they can expect from us.
