Strictly’s Will Mellor breaks down in tears as he gets his highest score and tops leaderboard StrictlyComeDancing
Strictly's Will Mellor broke down in tears as he and pro partner Nancy XU got their highest score of the series tonight's episode, with 29 points, leaving them at the top of the leaderboard for the second week running.
Shirley Ballas praised him for his "beautiful footwork", whilst Craig Revel-Horwood described the dance as "thoroughly gorgeous". As the judges flashed their scorecards to reveal that Will had netted 39 out of a total 40 points for his dance, he and Nancy jubilantly wrapped their arms around one another.
His dad, Bill, died suddenly in 2020, just a few weeks after finding out he had cancer, and Will has previously said that it was his dad's death that pushed him to do Strictly.
