Ahead of this week’s Strictly Come Dancing live show, Angela Rippon has revealed how she hopes it will be less eventful, after it emerged she sliced open her leg just minutes before taking to the dance floor during week four!
The veteran broadcaster, who turned 79 last week, recounted the incident in her column for The Telegraph, where she wrote: “Well Saturday’s Strictly is one that I won’t forget in a hurry – and I’m not talking about my shoe falling off or doing the splits. But the drama before I got onto the dance floor is something I don’t want to live through again.
“Immediately the Strictly machine swung into action. The medic was called. I knew the cut was not bad enough to stop me taking to the dance floor – but not in the next five minutes.”
