'Each week, it’s a different part of the body that hates me'
Northampton Strictly Come Dancing frontrunner Hamza Yassin said he was suffering with painful injuries ahead of this weekend's show. The wildlife cameraman is one of the fan favourites on the BBC One programme.
Ahead of week seven, Hamza spoke to host Janette Manrara about how he was struggling with pain in his knees. He explained how he was meant to fall on his front during last week's Tango but was unable to due to the discomfort.As a result, he never rehearsed his fall at the end of the dance with Jowita, and just did it the one time on the show. He insisted his knees were ok, admitting it was because he was old rather than any aggravation from rehearsals.
"I’ve been having ice baths to try and recover, I sit in them for 45 minutes every evening, until the ice melts, and then get up and have a shower," as he also opened up about his dyslexia struggles too. The Glitterball hopeful was born in Sudan and has credited his African heritage with his sense of rhythm. Aged eight, Hamza moved to Northampton where it was thought he would eventually study medicine like the rest of his family.
