The whole Stagecoach team is said to be 'devastated' over Mr Stirling's death. The 42-year-old male driver of the white Ford Transit van is in a 'serious but stable' condition in hospital, said Police Scotland.
Condolences have been paid to the family and friends of a bus driver who died five days after being involved in a crash with a van in East Ayrshire.
Fiona Doherty, managing director of Stagecoach West Scotland, said:"It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of our colleague Gordon Stirling. "The whole Stagecoach team is devastated about this and we all send our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
