More than a third of people are said to experience nocturia, and there are some common reasons for it.
Nocturia is the name given to when you excessively wake up and need the toilet during the night. According to the NHS, it's typical to pass water up to eight times during the day, and once or twice at night.
More than a third of people in the UK suffer from nocturia, are are losing out on hundreds of hours of sleep each year. It also helps to align the neck and spine, allowing you to sleep much better and alleviate any neck pain. However, elevating your legs before bedtime, ie resting them on the sofa arm, lets the fluid drain easier, leading to a better night's sleep.
If you do need to quench your thirst before bed, try having small sips and ensure you're drinking enough during the day too. With Slimming World’s eating plan, Food Optimising, you have the freedom to eat the food you love and still lose weight.
