A month on from his passing, the late Sir Michael Parkinson's family held an intimate funeral and wake in the village of Bray this week - 'it was a very dignified send-off'
The late, great Sir Michael Parkinson's funeral went ahead this week, in front of 90 of the TV interviewer's nearest and dearest.
The melodic crooning of Frank Sinatra came from the speakers as mourners paid their final respects. Then, after the church, friends and family headed to Michael's local, The Hind's Head pub, which was reportedly guarded by two doormen. "I have said previously that it's a very difficult situation to be in as a family because you do actually feel that you should step back for a while and just let the public mourn the man that they lost in the sense that you don't want to almost step on their toes because they had a particular relationship with him, either through television, radio, through print.
