A number of proposals had been lodged in the second half of 2022 which could see old or disused locations brought back to use with new purposes. Town centre locations to be revamped include the former Woolworths store and a former nightclub.A stalled housing development which had become an eyesore will finally be completed, while major chains Burger King and Turtle Bay are also planning to set up in the town.
Turtle Bay Turtle Bay's plan to open in Blackpool took a significant step forward in August as a planning application was submitted for its proposed new site. The building currently occupying the site has been used for residential and commercial purposes in the past, with part of the area already cleared and currently used for car parking. London-based Issam Chehab has lodged a planning application for the use of the now vacant retail unit as a Tesco Express, and the change of use of the first floor to four holiday flats plus a roof lift to accommodate a further four holiday flats. Documents submitted with the application say: “The ground floor will be a retail unit which will house a Tesco Express. The upper floors will consist of eight two bedroom holiday flats.
