EXCLUSIVE: Wellbeing economy secretary Neil Gray claimed Rishi Sunak had adopted an 'extreme' position of pushing for unlimited extraction in the North Sea.
Scotland cannot afford to lose the North Sea oil and gas industry "prematurely", a top SNP minister has warned. Neil Gray said the Scottish Government recognised the climate emergency and was working towards a just transition, which would see workers switch to renewable jobs as quickly as possible.
It comes after the annual GERS report on the Scottish economy last week found North Sea oil and gas revenues had reached their highest ever level. Scottish politics "We know we are going to need those energy companies to continue to invest in the renewable offering. That investment is going to be critically important. And if we're going to see a just transition, we need to make sure we take our workers with us.
