A licensing application has been submitted by the owners of The Bodega in Hockley
A popular Nottingham bar and music venue has put forward plans to enhance its outdoor area. A licensing application submitted by the owners of The Bodega on Pelham Street, Hockley, has revealed further details about the proposal.
DHP Family operates the venue of choice for many students and music lovers, and is looking to extend the area covered by its licence to include an external bar and new toilets. These would be set up in the bar's Cobden Chambers area, which The Bodega's website describes as a 'secret garden' with a DJ-made soundtrack and street food vendors.
In the application, representatives for DHP Family said it wanted to "amend the layout of the premises and update the licence plan in accordance with [design drawings]". The application document added: "The application is seeking to extend the area for licensable activities to incorporate a bar and toilets including new wheelchair accessible WC to service the Cobden Chambers external area.
The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, The xx, Scissor Sisters, Florence and The Machine, The 1975, The Libertines, Coldplay and Mumford and Sons are just some of the better-known names to have played. As well as The Bodega, DHP Family owns the legendary Rock City, alongside Rescue Rooms, Stealth, and Black Cherry Lounge in Nottingham.
