Paul Scholes says Manchester United would have better off splashing out huge money on Harry Kane than spreading the spend across multiple players.

Scholes believes Kane would have suited United's style, agreeing that he may have preferred an Old Trafford move. Scholes added: “I know they’ve brought Hojlund in, he’s one for the future I think. He hasn’t got a great goalscoring record as yet but we don't know about the future, he may do that. But Harry Kane coming to this team you're thinking 25-30 goals. Fellow TNT pundit and ex-United teammate Rio Ferdinand concurred, saying: “I agree, you have to go out for a talent like that. Someone who guarantees you goals. Last season, we had a striker who got zero goals.
