Football Insider has learned that Man United could sanction the sale of Scott McTominay in January to raise funds for new arrivals.
sources have told Football InsiderMcTominay started for the first time this season for the 3-1 home loss against Brighton on Saturday – but is not believed to feature prominently in Erik ten Hag’s plans.
Man United will need to be financially savvy to bring in any reinforcements in January following a summer window of big spending.that the potential sale of McTominay would generate “big funds” despite his second-string status at Old Trafford. Several Premier League clubs were interested in signing the 26-year-old in the summer window but an exit did not materialise.
Since then, Sofyan Amrabat has arrived on a loan-to-buy basis – pushing McTominay further down the pecking order.
