Digital kidnapping is an added risk because if a photo of your child ends up in the wrong place, eg the dark web, it could result in more serious crimes, says Alex.Alex added that a lot of digital kidnappers are women, who use specific hashtags in their stolen pictures and videos to promote what they're doing.
The ONLY way to stop the risk of this happening, adds Alex, is to never share images of children online.While Alex urges anyone sharing photos of their kids online to make their account private, she also advises taking stock of who is actually following your accounts.'Really, really monitor your followers and make sure all the photos of your child are appropriate and have no chance of being taken in an explicit manner.
