She is one of only three people in Northern Ireland with this particular condition

A South Belfast woman, who lives with a rare muscle-wasting illness, is urging people to support a Christmas event for the charity that supports her and others with the condition.

Muscle-wasting conditions may be inherited or strike out of the blue. There is currently no cure, but research to develop potential treatments is showing great promise. People in Belfast are invited to start the Christmas season in style, at an evening of uplifting performances and festive cheer taking place at the iconic Parliament Buildings on Saturday, December 3.

There will also be performances from the Antrim Country Choir and the Belfast and Lisburn Rock Choir, to mention just a few. This year, centre stage will be 11-year-old Luke O’Hanlon, from Dungannon, who will light a candle of hope at the concert.
