The local authority is cracking down on the issue and has put six officers in charge of catching people and businesses in the act.
The team will be identifying offenders, reducing the number of fly tipping instances, and increasing the number of fines and reports to the procurator fiscal.
Meanwhile, evidence is being gathered for one larger-scale investigation and three private landowners have removed fly tipping at the team’s request.
