📺 Neighbours saved as Amazon Freevee revives soap with new series to be filmed next year
returned for the grand finale in July, supposedly bringing the curtain down on Ramsey Street after 36 years.Channel 5 pulled out.On Thursday, Amazon Freevee, the free streaming service formerly IMDb TV, and Fremantle announced that the long-running soap will be returning to television with a brand-new series to begin filming in Australia next year.
Production is set to begin in early 2023 on new episodes with a “world premiere” slated for the second half of the year. “We are thrilled that we have found a new home with Amazon Freevee. Thanks to the innovative Amazon Freevee platform, many classic episodes will be available to fans, and Neighbours will go back into full production in Australia early next year, providing our fans with new episodes,” said Jennifer Mullin, global CEO, Fremantle.
