A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder
Neighbours on a quiet cul-de-sac said they're devastated after a "lovely" woman died outside her home.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services the woman died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.A 17-year-old boy has since been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection to the incident. Neighbours on the road spoke to The ECHO of their devastation and disbelief following the incident, which saw an air ambulance land nearby.
"My neighbour said people went out to help her. It's a lovely estate, except some cars can be very loud and very fast, but never that family. Another woman who lives nearby said: "We were out and at work, the first we heard was - we had a hundred messages saying 'are you okay, is it your cul-de-sac?' It's usually really quiet, I didn't believe it was ours [estate where the incident happened] to be honest.A man living just a number of houses away said: "I couldn't believe it when I first saw what happened. It's awful especially on your doorstep.
