Cheryl Shaw said neighbours have complained about her children running around the estate and that the home was full of damp
A mum of seven has described her living conditions as ‘unbearable’, revealing that her entire family is squeezed into a one-bedroom flat. Cheryl Shaw says some of the youngsters have to sleep on the floor and clothing has to be shoved behind the sofa as there’s nowhere else to put it.
All seven of her children Lacey, 10, Corey, 14, Oakley, 6, Colton, 9, Skylar, 8, Laila, 2, Leah, 15, and Cheryl, 38, all share two rooms, with Laila, Oakley, and Colton sleeping on the living room floor with Cheryl. Oldham Council and First Choice Homes are looking for more accommodation but say there is a huge waiting list.
“Even if they give me a three-bed I can make it work,” she said. “I just want them to give me a house that’s suitable for me and the children. She said she gets complaints from neighbours over her children running around the estate where they live, but in her flat there is no place for them to play.
