The family have been holding fundraising events in Natalie's memory and have raised £40,000 for Women's Aid
Natalie McNally's aunt has recalled her memories of her niece and thanked the public for their continued support as the family fight for justice.
She said: "Natalie was the only daughter of my brother, Noel, and his wife, Bernie, so she was special from the very start. She became even more special when she was diagnosed with diabetes as a very young child. "She liked to stay in the background of things, but she was always protesting about something. She went to all the women's rights marches, she was pro-choice so was always campaigning about that, and she was very much into attending LGBT+ events.
Fundraising has been a great way to raise awareness of serious issues, such as violence against women and girls, but it has also been a great comfort for the family during such a difficult period as they fight for justice for Natalie."We just go through whatever process and cooperate how we can, so we know that takes time. We just have to wait and see what happens there.
"It's not just about raising money and awareness, it's also about the support that shows the family. People's generosity gives Noel and Bernie and the three boys some comfort that people care about them, that there are more good people than evil people in the world. We know that's true. The support the family gets is really important and keeps them going forward. "
Bernie said: "Noel and Bernie have had letters and cards through from people they don't know, and every single one of them gives them comfort. I was in with a friend a month ago and she doesn't know them but gave me a mass card to give them.
