A campaigning mum has spoken of her relief at the official opening of a new baby loss unit at University Hospital Wishaw.

The 40-year-old set about ensuring that other mums wouldn’t have to endure the experience she did, if the unexpected happens and instead of the expected bundle of joy you are left to come to terms with an overwhelming sense of grief. She said: “It’s completely overwhelming being here and I’m so relieved that the unit is now officially opened for women. Of course it’s emotional, I’ve not been up here since 2019 but it’s lovely to see these rooms.
