The Met Office has extended its yellow weather warning for thunderstorms today to include parts of Lancashire.
The warning on their website said: "Thunderstorms and torrential downpours are expected to break out across central England and Wales during Monday. These will be slow moving and intense leading to some large accumulations with in excess of 30 mm in an hour for some locations and the potential for 60-80 mm or more in a few hours where thunderstorms align for a time.
Lancashire Resilience Forum tweeted: The @metoffice is predicting thunderstorms today - a yellow warning for us up North. Flood guidance has also been issued - so if you live in an area that's prone to flooding, please be mindful of the warning and follow our advice."
