It comes after the Met Office extended its yellow weather warning to cover all of Greater Manchester. The warning will be in place from 2pm until 10.30pm with thunderstorms being forecasted by experts across the region from 4pm to 7pm.
"Hail, strong gusts of wind, and lightning will be possible additional hazards. Despite this, some places in the warning area will remain dry, or see little rain, due to the scattered nature of the heaviest showers."When Greater Manchester will be affected by thunderstorms Thunderstorms will begin to creep into western parts of the region from 3pm today. The main areas affected will include Wigan and Warrington.
Sunny conditions in Manchester will come to an end as thunderstorms progress across a larger radius. Warrington will have sunny spells mixed with showers, however, the thunderstorms should ease slightly in this region.
