Messages about cannabis on two phones led to the arrest and conviction of two Clifton men. Analysis of the handsets showed what Steven Mayne and Ben Riddle had been up to.
Their phones were seized on January 25 last year at 6.20pm when police stopped their car in Colleymoor Leys Lane, Clifton. A phone attributed to Mayne showed evidence of the supply of cannabis, an agreement to supply cannabis on numerous occasions, and a discussion with a woman about a contribution to buying one kilo of cannabis with her and to sell it on for profit and to use "runners".
There was also a discussion in messages about cannabis production and advice on caring for the plants.
