One witness caught sight of something strange while watching the Red Arrows
Nearly 1,000 UFO sightings have been spotted and reported across the UK over the last two-and-a-half years - with our interactive map revealing exactly where unidentifiable vessels have been spotted in the skies above.
Residents and visitors have highlighted anything and everything from 'cigar shape' and 'floating oval' objects to others 'shimmering like a wave' and 'intensifying as if powering up making odd movements'.It comes after the US Congress heard last month from retired Major David Grusch, a former Air Force intelligence officer, about possible evidence of extra-terrestrial contact. He said the US has likely been aware of “non-human” activity since the 1930s.
The Mirror says that just under half of all sightings reported come with photographic or video evidence. The most common shape comes in the form of a 'star' while orbs , spheres and cylinders were also frequently spotted, according to onlookers.
